Free Mutual Fund Portfolio Review

Already investing in mutual funds, but not sure your portfolio is doing its job? Share your consolidated account statement (CAS) and CA Saurav Goyal will send you a plain-language review of what you own. It is free, and there is no obligation to move anything.

What your review covers

  • A portfolio score card. A composite score from 0 to 100 for your whole portfolio and for each scheme, based on crash resilience, risk-adjusted and long-term returns, and downside safety.
  • Your mix across categories. How your money is split between large cap, mid and small cap, flexi cap, hybrid, debt and other categories, and whether that suits your goals.
  • Fund overlap. How much your funds own the same stocks, so you can see where you are paying for duplication.
  • Rolling-return consistency. Which funds have lagged their category over rolling periods, not just over one convenient date range.
  • Key portfolio ratios. The risk and return measures that matter, explained in plain language.
  • Exit, retain or hold for review. A clear view on each fund.
  • The tax impact first. Before suggesting any change, we show what selling would cost in capital gains tax and exit loads.

Why a second look is worth it

Most portfolios we see were built one fund at a time: a tip from a colleague, a fund that topped last year’s charts, an NFO that looked exciting. Over a few years that adds up to eight or ten funds that often hold the same large companies. The portfolio looks diversified but behaves like two or three funds, and some of them may be quietly trailing their category.

Allocation also drifts. A plan that started at 60% equity can sit at 80% after a strong market without anyone deciding that. A review brings the portfolio back in line with what your goals actually need.

How it works

  1. Download your CAS. It is a free statement listing all your mutual funds across fund houses. You can get it from CAMS, KFintech or MF Central; the links are on our Resources page.
  2. Fill in the short form. Your name, PAN, mobile, email and city, then share your CAS.
  3. Saurav reviews it personally. You receive a written review that explains what you own and what, if anything, needs attention.
  4. Talk it through if you like. We can set up a call to go over the findings. Nothing changes unless you decide it should.

Who the review is for

Salaried professionals, doctors, business owners and families who have been investing for a few years and want an honest second look. It is especially useful if you hold more than five or six funds, have SIPs started by different people over time, or have not looked at your portfolio since you started.
